The
Cabrillo Symphonic Chorus enjoys a stellar reputation internationally
as well as at home.

In the summer of 2001, the
Cabrillo Symphonic Chorus toured Spain. Concerts were presented
in cathedrals in Barcelona, Seville, Cordoba, Toledo, Segovia
and Madrid.
In
the summer
of 1998, the Chorus toured Italy.(The photo on the page is from
the Italy tour.) A highlight was singing a full Mass at St. Peter's

Its
tours to Russia and Eastern Europe were met with rave reviews and
standing ovations. Its annual performing schedule includes the perennial
favorite, "Music for the Feast of Christmas," and a performance
with the Santa Cruz County Symphony each spring. In addition, the
summer season finds the chorus exploring the riches of contemporary
musical literature, either with the famed Cabrillo Music Festival
or on its own.
In
1996, The Cabrillo Symphonic Chorus performed Voices of Light
by Richard Einhorn, with the Cabrillo Music Festival. The Cabrillo
Chorus was honored with an invitation to perform Lou Harrison's
La Koro Sutro at the American Choral Directors' Conference
held in Pasadena in March 1996. The Chorus performed the 9th Symphony
by Beethovern with the Santa Cruz County Symphony in 1997, and
Verdi's Requiem in spring 1998. It will perform Carl Orff's Carmina
Burana in May 2002.
